Bible Study

Set some time aside; maybe 10-20 minutes each day for the next two days. Read Isaiah 61 using your Bible or the passage lookup tool: Passage Lookup. After reading the passage for today, click back and continue with the items below.

Questions:

What is the assigned servant’s part in the covenant (see verse 59:21 with 52:13; 55:4-5)? How will it transform society? What inheritance will all the people of the Lord enjoy?

Food for Thought:

We sometimes accept less than God wants to give. We need to see that the glass is half full instead of half empty – Paraphrase from a part of Rev Steve Ramsdell sermon, First United Methodist Church of Waco

Actions or Responses:

Sometimes it’s hard to see that the glass is half full instead of half empty but with Christ it makes it much easier. By faith we are grafted into Christ like a limb grafted into a tree. Pray for the nutrients one can receive from that tree of life. Pray for the eternal joy and blessings God can give. Pray for direction which allows one to act with justice and wisdom. Pray for God’s church to increase throughout the world.
