Favorite Bible Reading this Week

My favorite Bible reading this past week was from Psalm 49. To me it reinforced what Pastor Wayne talked about in his sermon this past Sunday. What really makes the difference is our souls. When all is said and done, the true victory is not wealth or fame but the salvation of our souls.

That’s why I think Bible study is so important. It allows us to grow deeper roots so we are able to absorb the spiritual nourishment we need and are well grounded when the storms of life hit.

Former quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys Roger Staubach once said, “Nothing good comes in life or athletics unless a lot of hard work has preceded the effort. Only temporary success is achieved by taking short cuts“.  Bible study is similar to an athletic workout; helping us step ahead to produce more confidence, pushing each other, and building a winning tradition by accepting the love of God in Christ.
