Q-3 WHAT WILL GUIDE US?

Luke 23:32-34 (NIV)

OUR GUIDE

1. THE MASTER_______________

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” Hebrews 13:8 (NIV)

2. THE CROSS________________

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 (NIV)

3. THE MISSION_______________

“Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” Matthew 28:19 (NIV)

THE MOTIVATION

1. OUR MINDSET______________ Philippians 2

“In your lives you must think and act like Christ Jesus. Christ Himself was like God in everything. But He did not think that being equal with God was something to be used for His own benefit.” Philippians 2:5-6 (NCV)

2. OUR OPENNESS____________ 1 Corinthians 9

“When I am with the Jews, I become one of them so that I can bring them to Christ. When I am with those who follow Jewish laws, I do the same…. Gentiles… oppressed… Yes, I try to find common ground with everyone so that I might bring them to Christ.” 1 Corinthians 9:20-22 (NLT)

3. OUR WILLINGNESS__________ Acts 10:1-48

“The Jewish believers who came with Peter were amazed that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out upon the Gentiles, too.” Acts 10:45 (NLT)

In answering the question for this week – “What will Guide us”, what I learned is that Christ is always the same and this is a big plus. Things are changing all the time and you can gain knowledge on various subjects but one subject is always the same and that is how Christ lived. The principles Jesus lived out never change and are useful forever. Our mission is clear and that is to tell others about the benefits of accepting Christ and trying to live like He did.

The thought from point #2 of “The Motivation” for me means we should be open to other points of view and listen. The goal as laid out in the scripture reading is to find common ground which enables greater opportunities to explain the benefits of accepting Christ.
