Walking by Faith Along this Broken Road

The testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. – James 1:3-4

Habakkuk’s journey as written about in “Waiting with Faith” offers us a timeless example of faithful living in seasons of uncertainty. Though burdened with deep questions, he waits in faith, believing that God’s answers—however delayed—are worth the wait. He remains spiritually alert, always reading, watching, and listening for God’s voice. Like a batter standing at the plate, he doesn’t swing wildly but waits for the right pitch to swing at — the pitch in the strike zone that is shaped by God’s purpose. When that moment comes, it’s time to take a swing with confidence, knowing that what follows will not just be sufficient, but amazing, crafted by God’s perfect timing.

Jeremy Camp’s song Walk by Faith is a heartfelt declaration of trust in God’s plan, even when life feels uncertain or broken. The song beautifully echoes the truth that faith can carry us through anything—not because we have all the answers, but because we trust the One who does. “Even when I cannot see,” Camp sings, reminding us that the journey doesn’t require perfect vision—only confidence in God’s guiding hand. Every detour, disappointment, and delay become part of a “broken road” that ultimately prepares the way for God’s will to unfold in our lives. It’s a song of surrender, courage, and unwavering hope in the unseen.
