Over the last few weeks, I’ve been looking at ways to apply the word found in 2 Kings 19-25 and sharing some thoughts that not only can benefit us now but also help the next generation too! The greatest of all possessions one can hand off to future generations are the guiding principles taught from the Word of God.

The take-away from 2 Kings 19 is to trust in God and look forward to the future because the Creator can provide what is needed. God can take tough situations and turn them into something positive. Out of intense difficulties, God can make simplicities emerge. By accepting His Son, the power is endless and in us, so simply assemble the thoughts, ideas, and instructions provided to step ahead into a future beyond what can be imagined!

From 2 Kings 20, some takeaways are to be humble, kind, and have gratitude. In difficulty, we should have faith that God will set things up for less stress. With God, we are never rejected but always accepted so let us face criticism in a tactful way as we humbly listen for constructive adjustments to make.   

In reading 2 Kings 21 and as mentioned in the post “Walk in God’s Ways”, Manasseh did not walk with the wise and the result would be destruction and chaos for his people. Life is a series of experiences that develops character and wisdom. Let us aim to help others along lives journey and be a good example by being a good parent, good employee, good friend, or good mentor as we walk in God’s ways.

Within 2 Kings 22, we noted that Josiah repaired the temple and during that process, they found the Book of the Law. It had been collecting dust in the corner and Judah had not been following what it said. Noted in “Playbook For A Remarkable Victory” is the thought that when exercising, we need the proper equipment. To get our spiritual body in shape, we need to exercise our faith by using the equipment or the word of God. A Bible never read and applied does no good, but those who turn the pages, read, learn, and apply what it says will find it to be the playbook for a remarkable victory in their life.

A thought after reading 2 Kings 23 is that sanctification is the process of making or becoming holy. Day by day, little things become big things and lead to the amazing things with Gods help. Let us each look at our daily routine and seek to tweak or fine-tune with sanctification in mind. Then determine what priorities need to be restructured and set goals to act upon in the future that will transform us into all that God wants us to be. Let us constantly develop tasks to make these goals happen, document progress, and use ideas and the help of others.

A takeaway from reading 2 Kings 24 is that wisdom begins with integrity, and we take warning from the history of fallen nations of the past for ourselves and our country. Let us be truthful with ourselves and those around us. Let us ask God to search our heart to begin the process of eliminating iniquities. Let us desire to be right with God by building up the unseen qualities of our soul to become whole.

The history of Judah as pointed out in reading 2 Kings 25 shows the result of continued refusal to acknowledge the ONE true God. Before our own present results in a horrible future for us, let us think of ideas to create religious, social, and cultural reforms today. In everything we do, let us think about being connected to God in all our thoughts, ideas, and experiences.

The road map is at this link and all who accept Jesus will be rewarded because God’s kingdom has abundance, and the Spirit has no limit! The blessings consist of a future with provision, purpose, peace, and a perfect place that is beyond what could be imagined.
