Are there things in life that can tweaked just a little to make the future better? Are there readjusted priorities that can be established in order to step ahead into a brighter future? Are there better ways in how to spend time and money? Should we be more aware of eternal treasures that reward without end? There is always room for improvement and our mission as a disciple of Christ is to build our life on the lessons that are taught in God’s Word. This day with God, we seek more patience in making Christ our main acquaintance. We endure distress knowing God will bless.
Reading today 2 Kings 23, we note that Josiah became king at eight years old. He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord. He led the repair of the temple and during the restoration, the Book of the Law was found. This inspired Josiah to make a covenant to follow the Lord and keep his commands, statutes and decrees with all his heart and soul (v. 3). All items used for idol worship were burned and he did away with the idolatrous priests appointed by the kings of Judah. He destroyed altars and high places used for idol worship as he reigned in Jerusalem for thirty-one years.
Anything we put as priority ahead of God is an idol. Examples may include money, job, too much food or drink, expensive houses, and cars. The focus should be on God’s way. The temple of Lord was in need of repair during Josiah’s reign and each of our bodies which is where the Spirit of God resides needs constant repair also, so look at priorities to determine what activities lead to the ultimate reward of being set apart for God’s holy purposes.
Sanctification is the process of making or becoming holy. Day by day, little things become big things and lead to the amazing things with Gods help. Let us each take a look at our daily routine and seek to tweak or fine-tune with sanctification in mind. Then determine what priorities need to be restructured and set goals to act upon in the future that will transform us into all that God wants us to be. Let us constantly develop tasks to make these goals happen, document progress, and use ideas and the help of others.
This day with You Lord, we ask that You help us look at our priorities. We each are Your temple where Your Spirit resides so help us to make the needed restorations as we step ahead into our tomorrows. The Holy Spirit is housed inside with power beyond human capacity. Give us ideas and the desire to tweak routines so we focus more on the eternal with Godly virtues rather than worldly desires. This prayer today is made in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Well said! “Anything we put as priority ahead of God is an idol. Examples may include money, job, too much food or drink, expensive houses, and cars. The focus should be on God’s way.”
